Christina Miyake is a Lecturer in Korean Language at HJ International Graduate School for Peace and Public Leadership. A native English speaker, she has studied the Korean language most of her life, including time abroad in South Korea as an adolescent and again as a university student. Having begun her undergraduate studies at Northwestern University, her desire to further her Korean language study led her to uproot her life in the United States and move to South Korea, where she received her undergraduate degree at Sun Moon University. While living in South Korea, Ms. Miyake also gained experience interpreting and translating from Korean into English. With years of Korean immersion experience, she is passionate about sharing the rich Korean language and culture with her students.
In addition to teaching Korean, Ms. Miyake previously served as Project Director for HJ International. Prior to her time at HJI, she served as Administrator for the Women’s Federation for World Peace, a non-governmental organization in General Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.
Ms. Miyake currently lives in New York with her husband and young daughter.
