What inspired you to apply to HJI and your program? What do you most appreciate about being a student at HJI?
When I was invited to attend the master’s course on Peace Studies, I accepted with gratitude, because I had not had a chance to study for many years. Yet, my responsibility in the Universal Peace Federation brings me into contact with leaders who are involved on a higher level with problems of conflict resolution. Adjunct Assistant Professor of Research Methods and Analysis in the Social Sciences
Frederick A. Swarts, Ph.D., has had a distinguished career in academic, governmental, and nonprofit sectors.
In academia, Dr. Swarts taught graduate courses in Research Methods, Sustainable Development, and Thesis at the University of Bridgeport, as well as Biology at Lackawanna College. He currently serves as Academic Dean at Bridgeport International Academy and Life Sciences Editor for New World Encyclopedia.

Honoring Imboni Radebe
On Saturday, January 17, a historic gathering took place at HJI’s campus at 481 Eighth Avenue in NYC, as HJI and FFWPU USA joined forces to host a profound celebration honoring Imboni Radebe—Founder of the Revelation Spiritual Home and recipient of the 2025 Sunhak Peace Prize Founder’s Award.
The atmosphere was one of warmth and significance, bringing together leaders from WFWP, UPF, ACLC, YSP, and allied networks to celebrate a unique intersection of spiritual leadership, scholarship, and global peacebuilding.
