Perrottet, Claude
Professor of Peace and Conflict Studies
Dr. Claude Perrottet is a trained scholar and a published author with a Master of Divinity from UTS and a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Religion from Canada’s Laval University. Dr. Perrottet teaches courses in HJI’s Graduate Program in Peace Studies and previously taught in the Graduate Program of Global Development and Peace Studies at the University of Bridgeport. He has notably published “Immanuel Kant’s Perpetual Peace: The New World Order of Critical Philosophy,” a book on Kant’s influence on Tillich (Beyond Kantian Criticism: The Critical-Intuitive Method in Paul Tillich’s First Philosophy of Religion – in French), and journal articles on Tillich, including “Guide to the Perplexed: An Attempt To Make Sense of the Tillich-Hisamatsu Dialogues.” He has also published articles on Gender and Spirit World in the Journal of Unification Studies. He has translated An Introduction to the Thought of Sun Myung Moon: Unification Thought and VOC Theory from the original Korean to English, and he is a recognized expert in online teaching. He is also the editor-in-chief of HJI’s International Journal for Peace and Public Leadership (IJPPL) and the president of the Research Institute for the Integration of World Thought here in the United States.

Research Interests
Dr. Perrottet’s overall focus is that of a sympathetic critique of the philosophical enterprise and its relevance to spiritual investigations. In context, the emphasis is on the requirements for certainty about fundamentals and exploring the conditions for permanent peace.
