Frederick A. SwartsAdjunct Assistant Professor of Research Methods and Analysis in the Social Sciences

Frederick A. Swarts, Ph.D., has had a distinguished career in academic, governmental, and nonprofit sectors.

In academia, Dr. Swarts taught graduate courses in Research Methods, Sustainable Development, and Thesis at the University of Bridgeport, as well as Biology at Lackawanna College. He currently serves as Academic Dean at Bridgeport International Academy and Life Sciences Editor for New World Encyclopedia.

In the governmental sector, Dr. Swarts served from 2010 to 2021 as a board member on the U.S. Department of Energy’s Central Institutional Review Board, the DOE’s IRB for reviewing human subject research.

In the nonprofit sector, Dr. Swarts has held positions of Assistant Secretary-General for the World Association of Non-Governmental Organizations, Vice President of CAUSA, and Administrative Director of the American Leadership Conference. He presented keynote addresses at the 20th Annual Meeting of the Society of Wetland Scientists and the Third NGO Forum (Cairo, Egypt).
