Selover, Thomas

Adjunct Professor of Asian Religion

Dr. Thomas Selover is former President and Associate Professor of SunHak UP Graduate University in South Korea. He is currently serving as President of Professors World Peace Academy International, and as a member of the National Educational Advisory Team (NEAT) of FFWPU-USA. 

Dr. Selover has taught at universities and colleges in the U.S., Canada, China and South Korea, including as Associate Professor and Department Head of Religious Studies at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. His courses have ranged from World Religions and Methodology in the Study of Religion to Confucian and Daoist Thought, to True Parents Theology and Cheon Il Guk Ecumenism.

Dr. Selover was trained in Confucian Studies by Harvard Prof. Tu Weiming and continues to have research interests in the intersection of Unification theology with East Asian philosophy, religion and culture. He is also working on furthering the social teachings of the Unification movement. Dr. Selover’s current research interests include “humane-ism” (the philosophy of substantial human-relatedness) and promoting academic engagement with Arts and Science for Peace. He and his wife, Dr. Grace Selover, have two sons and two grandsons, and are actively involved in the “Peace Starts With Me” movement led by the Mother of Peace, Dr. Hak Ja Han.
