Our Future with AI – Part II: Theological Anthropology, Alignment and Eschatology

HJI was pleased to co-host with the Higher Purpose Forum (HPF) “Our Future With AI – Part II: Theological Anthropology, Alignment and Eschatology,” held on Wednesday, May 7.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is already integrated into almost every area of human activity. The exponential advance in the performance of machine learning has repeatedly exceeded expectations. Will the advent of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) or Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI) usher in a radically new and disruptive epoch in human, or post human history?

  • What impact will AGI/ASI have on the traditional understanding of the human being as a unique creation, created in the image and likeness of God, imago dei?
  • Is it too late to align AI with human values and goals, and with divine providence?
  • Can AI be harnessed in such a way as to serve providential objectives of human history, the Kingdom of God?

This program is the second in a series on the topic of Artificial Intelligence. We invite you to watch “Our Future with AI – Part I”. The stimulating and informative presentations and discussion provide an excellent basis upon which to join Part II.

You will have the opportunity to hear from our speakers Dr. Thomas Walsh, HJI President. and Ms. Bruna Allen, HJI Class of 2024. Mr. James Edgerly, Director of Higher Purpose Forum, will be the host of the event.
