Wilson, Andrew

Professor of Scriptural Studies
Dr. Andrew Wilson is Professor of Scriptural Studies at HJI (formerly UTS), where he has been teaching for over 30 years. His book World Scripture: A Comparative Anthology of Sacred Texts (1991) is a standard in the field of interfaith studies, and World Scripture and the Teachings of Sun Myung Moon (2007) was designated by Rev. Moon as one of the eight official textbooks of Unificationism. He led the editorial committee for Exposition of the Divine Principle (1996) and collaborated with Rev. Joong Hyun Pak to write True Family Values (1996, 2003). He has written and lectured in support of True Mother and her role, as well as articles on biblical theology, Jewish-Christian relations and Israeli-Palestinian relations. Currently, his main research interest is the theology of God as Heavenly Mother and its wider implications.

Intersections between the Bible as understood in the Judeo-Christian tradition, historical-critical scholarship, Unificationism and its recent developments, and implications for Unification theology.
Research Interests
Dr. Wilson’s research explores intersections between the Bible, understood both traditionally and from the perspective of historical-critical scholarship, Unificationism (particularly developments around the ministry of Hak Ja Han and growing awareness of God as Heavenly Mother), recent spiritual developments, and implications for Unification theology.
