On April 3rd, HJI welcomed Masato Sudo, son of HJI alum and early FFWPU pioneer educator, Rev. Ken Sudo (M.Div. 1995). Rev. Sudo passed away on December 22, 2023 at age 92. Masato, currently residing in Seattle, is visiting New York and was eager to return to places of his childhood, including 43rd St and the former HJI campus in Barrytown, NY. Dr. Thomas Walsh, HJI President, Dr. Thomas Ward, HJI Provost, Dr. Frank LaGrotteria, HJI Vice President, Dr. Michael Mickler, Distinguished Professor of Historical Studies, and Mr. Ken Sohn, HJI Director of Information and Technology were on hand to meet Masato and provide a guided tour of HJI’s 43rd St. campus before sharing lunch together with discussion of many fond memories.
