Kone, Drissa
Associate Professor of Conflict Resolution and Ministry
Dr. Drissa Kone is an Associate Professor of Conflict Resolution and Ministry at HJ International Graduate School for Peace and Public Leadership, where he teaches courses in diplomacy, faith-based diplomacy, leadership, interfaith engagement, restorative justice, and spiritual formation. He earned his B.A. in Teaching from University Félix Houphouët-Boigny in 2007 and worked as a teacher before moving to the United States in 2008. He completed a Master of Divinity at HJI in 2012 and a Master of Arts in Diplomacy from Norwich University in 2014, specializing in conflict management. In 2016, he received his Doctor of Ministry from HJI with a focus on peace and justice. His research centers on transformational leadership and cross-cultural conflict management. Since 2019, he has served as a visiting professor at the Ethnosociology Institute of the University Félix Houphouët-Boigny, and in 2020, he was appointed Chair of the Doctor of Ministry Program at HJI.
Research Statement
My research explores how faith-based frameworks and ministry leadership can integrate conflict resolution practices to transform conflict into opportunities for reconciliation, healing, and sustainable peace in diverse communities.
Research Interests
My research advances the integration of theological reflection and conflict resolution methodologies to equip ministry leaders with culturally responsive tools for transforming conflict into sustainable reconciliation and peace.
