Meeting in the Heart of St. Louis
On Wednesday June 29th members of the UTS alumni in the St. Louis area were honored to receive a leadership team from their alma mater. UTS President, Dr. Hugh Spurgin, and UTS Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Kathy Winings, attended the biennial meeting of the Association of Theological Schools which was held at the Union Station Hotel in downtown St. Louis, granting them the opportunity to also meet with alumni in the area.
Hosted by Beth Shimotani (Class of 1987), Mary Bratti (Class of 1984), and William Stoner (Class of 1990) the group gathered for dinner that evening at the Station Grille restaurant in appreciation of Dr. Spurgin’s and Dr. Winings’ successful participation in the ATS conference. The informal gathering provided an opportunity for the UTS administrators to connect with members of the St. Louis alumni, some whom have been in the field for 32 years.
UTS co-founder, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon called on each person to create a “culture of heart” during a breakfast meeting in New York on Monday June 6, 2016. By sharing in fellowship, UTS alumni can deepen their bonds together and contribute to building heaven on earth through said “culture of heart”. Furthermore, by participating in professional conferences the leadership of UTS is building relationships and bringing the “body of Christ” closer together theologically.
