Born to Serve

The following sermon was given by UTS alumnus, Bento Leal (UTS’77) at the Bay Area Family Church in San Leandro, CA on Sunday October 25th. Bento Leal is a Relationship Skills Trainer with Healthy Relationships California, a statewide non-profit, non-sectarian organization.

“I am passionate about creating healthy marriages and healthy families, and I teach communication skills including: empathic listening, speaking, dialogue, problem solving, conflict management, and forgiveness skills.“

Bento has taught communication skills classes to more than 2000 couples and singles at churches, family resource centers, community organizations, substance abuse recovery programs, and county jails in California.

Bento’s wife, Kimiko, is a caregiver for retired seniors. Bento and Kimiko enjoy walking and jogging together daily, laughing a lot, meeting new people, and visiting new sites around the beautiful Bay Area. They currently reside in San Leandro, California and have three children, Yong-Sung, Yu-Mee, Jin-Mee.
