A Celebration of Life: Alex Colvin

His motto for the year 2019

In this year of transition:

Let us all be humble and contrite purifying our hearts seeking a deeper personal relationship with God in order that we may commit ourselves fully to doing His will.

Let us all work together with God in love to assist in the realization of His kingdom

 – January 1, 2019 of the Gregorian calendar

Alex (Ace) Colvin (UTS Class of 1986) was born on September 14, 1950 and ascended on June 14, 2019. I did not know him personally but came across his life and work while publishing the Cornerstone for the UTS Alumni Association. I enjoyed republishing several of his articles from The Flawed Guru. He is a colorful, wonderful personality. He was born in Manhattan, raised in California and Montana. He worked as a lay missionary with the Unification movement, lived in Maryland for about 20 years, went to college in Seattle, WA and Baltimore, MD and then took graduate studies at Unification Theological Seminary (UTS). He traveled extensively around the world with the Religious Youth Service after graduation from UTS with a Master of Divinity degree in 1986. He made Burney, CA his home and community for the last decade of his life. On Tuesday July 9th friends and family in Burney celebrated his life and legacy with a memorial service at the Word of Life Church on Main Street, Burney. He will be missed.

He is survived by his wife Linda, and his daughters HanaLyn Colvin and Dena Transeau.
