Walsh, Thomas G.

UTS alumni Thomas Walsh is the Chairman of Universal Peace Federation International, an NGO in Special Consultative Status with ECOSOC of the United Nations.

With academic training in the fields of Religion, Ethics and Social Theory, he earned his Ph.D.at Vanderbilt University. He has been a teacher, author and editor, with specialization in areas of interfaith dialogue, religious studies, peace studies, philosophy and social theory.

Dr. Walsh serves on the International Council of the World Association of Non-Governmental Organizations. He also serves as Publisher of UPF Today magazine and Dialogue and Alliance, a scholarly interfaith journal.

He has contributed to and edited more than twenty books related to interfaith, peacebuilding and renewal of the United Nations; among these volumes are Renewing the United Nations and Building a Culture of Peace and The Millennium Declaration of the United Nations: A Response from Civil Society.

Dr. Walsh has worked in close collaboration with Drs.Sun Myung and Hak Ja Han Moon on numerous projects for decades. Some of his current projects include his leadership role in the Rallies of Hope, the International Leadership Conferences, UPF Summits, Peaceful Reunification of Korea programs, and Think Tank 2022.
