SUMMARY:Threats to Religious Freedom: Root Causes and Paths Forward
DESCRIPTION:  \nWe are pleased to invite you to a special event on April 16\, introducing the newly published volume: \nThreats to Religious Freedom: Root Causes and Paths Forward\nEdited by Massimo Introvigne and Thomas Walsh\nPublished by HJI Press in collaboration with CESNUR (Center for Studies on New Religions) \nThis important work brings together leading scholars\, practitioners\, and advocates to examine the growing challenges to religious freedom around the world. Through diverse perspectives\, the book explores how stigma\, misinformation\, legal pressures\, and ideological forces contribute to the erosion of this fundamental human right. \nAs noted in the Foreword by Eileen Barker\, threats to religious freedom often arise not only from overt hostility\, but also from ignorance and misinformation—making awareness and education essential tools for change. \nThe volume also reminds us\, as expressed in the Preface by Demian Dunkley\, that religious freedom is not only a legal principle\, but a reflection of a society’s spiritual maturity and commitment to human dignity.  \n  \n\nBuy the Book on Amazon here\n\nTable of Contents of the book\, “Threats to Religious Freedom: Root Causes and Paths Forward.”\n\n\n \n\n\n\nContributors

We invite you to register for a presentation on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 4 – Quality Education\, entitled “SDG 4 : Global and Regional Perspectives and Pathways toward 2030″ to be held on December 16 at 7 PM ET.  \nSDG 4 articulates the United Nations’ commitment to “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.” Countries around the world are grappling with serious challenges related to the education of future generations. The process known as “education for peace” aims at ensuring that existing knowledge is transmitted in ways that foster development free from destructive conflicts. Many countries\, however\, are also confronted with a lack of basic educational resources that represents a challenge in itself. Today’s presentation will focus on the situation of ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and include recommendations towards development that is both desirable and sustainable. \nDr. Thomas Walsh\, President of HJI\, will host this event and Ambassador Mario L. de Leon Jr (ret) of the Philippines will be the presenter. Dr. Thomas Ward\, Professor of Peace and Development Studies\, HJI\, will be the respondent and Dr. Claude Perrottet\, president of RIIWT\, will moderate the event. \nThis insightful program will concluded with a Q&A with the audience. SUMMARY:Faculty Roundtable "Imagining Biblical Narratives through the Hermeneutic of the Principle of Creation"
DESCRIPTION:WATCH THE RECORDING! \nHJI invites you to the Faculty Roundtable on Thursday\, November 13 at 7pm ET\, hosted by Dr. Thomas Walsh\, President. Dr. Andrew Wilson\, Professor of Scriptural Studies will be speaking on “Imagining Biblical Narratives through the Hermeneutic of the Principle of Creation.” \nIn the latest expression of Holy Mother Han’s theology\, she writes\, “Our Creator’s Principle of Creation is based on a pair system. Therefore\, the fulfillment of God’s providence that Christianity and all religions have failed to realize and the culmination of fallen human history that cannot be achieved by men alone can only be accomplished through my presence.” (The Value of True Parents in Heaven’s Providence\, p. 239) Holy Mother Han is calling for a society based on the Principle of Creation. \nIn this presentation\, Dr. Wilson will re-imagine some key biblical narratives through the hermeneutical lens of the Principle of Creation\, proposing a corrective to the conventional Judeo-Christian and Unificationist views of the course of providential history\, considering how history might have developed differently had its central figures applied more elements of the Principle of Creation. \nPlease join us for this informative presentation\, followed by a Q&A session with the audience! \nWe look forward to an insightful and engaging event.

SUMMARY:A Contemporary Theology of Human Spirituality
DESCRIPTION:WATCH THE RECORDING! \nMark your calendar for “A Contemporary Theology of Human Spirituality” on Thursday\, October 9 at 7pm ET\, co-hosted with Higher Purpose Forum. \nThe diversity of New Testament Christian theologies are prone to criticism\, especially by non-believers\, as being individualistic\, otherworldly\, belligerent to other faith systems and therefore incompatible with creating a world of peace. Contemporary theologies must respond to such critiques to offer formulations that build harmony rather than boundaries. \nDr. Theodore Shimmyo\, President Emeritus and Adjunct Professor of Theology\, HJI will share a scripturally rooted understanding of human spirituality that is responsive to the need to create a world of lasting peace. Rev. Miilhan Stephens\, Pastor\, Boston Family Church\, will be the respondent. \nWe look forward to your participation in this interactive event.

SUMMARY:Does Switzerland’s neutrality have an expiration date?
DESCRIPTION:Watch the Recording!\nHJ International Graduate School for Peace and Public Leadership is pleased to co-host a special program with the Research Institute for the Integration of World Thought (RIIWT). We invite you to register for the presentation on “Does Switzerland’s neutrality have an expiration date?” to be held on May 16 at 2 PM ET. \nNeutrality has long been part of Switzerland’s image in the world and its history spans half a millennium. It is an armed neutrality that has allowed Switzerland to remain unscathed during the two World Wars. It is also a reason why many international organizations related to the UN are headquartered in Geneva\, the birthplace of the Geneva Conventions and a frequent venue for peace negotiations. But is neutrality still a desirable option in today’s political environment? Are there still legitimate grounds to claim that it furthers peace? This has been increasingly challenged\, both inside and outside of the country. \nDr. Thomas Walsh\, President of HJI\, will host this event and Yves Nidegger\, Esq.\, former member of Swiss parliament (National Council)\, will be the presenter. Dr. Thomas Ward\, Professor of Peace and Development Studies\, HJI\, will be the respondent and Dr. Claude Perrottet\, president of RIIWT will moderate the event. \nThis insightful program will conclude with a Q&A with the audience. We look forward to seeing you at this event!

SUMMARY:Our Future With AI - Part II: Theological Anthropology\, Alignment and Eschatology
DESCRIPTION:Watch the Recording!\nHJ International Graduate School for Peace and Public Leadership is pleased to co-host a special program with the Higher Purpose Forum (HPF). We invite you to register for “Our Future With AI – Part II: Theological Anthropology\, Alignment and Eschatology” to be held on Wednesday\, May 7 at 7 PM ET.  \nArtificial intelligence (AI) is already integrated into almost every area of human activity. The exponential advance in the performance of machine learning has repeatedly exceeded expectations. Will the advent of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) or Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI) usher in a radically new and disruptive epoch in human\, or post human history? \n\nWhat impact will AGI/ASI have on the traditional understanding of the human being as a unique creation\, created in the image and likeness of God\, imago dei?\nIs it too late to align AI with human values and goals\, and with divine providence?\nCan AI be harnessed in such a way as to serve providential objectives of human history\, the Kingdom of God?\n\nThis program is the second in a series on the topic of Artificial Intelligence. We invite you watch “Our Future with AI – Part I” prior to attending this program. The stimulating and informative presentations and discussion provide an excellent basis upon which to join Part II. To see the recording click here. \nYou will have the opportunity to hear from our speakers Dr. Thomas Walsh\, HJI President. and Ms. Bruna Allen\, HJI Class of 2024. Mr. James Edgerly\, Director of Higher Purpose Forum\, will be the host of the event. \nWe look forward to seeing you there!

SUMMARY:Faculty Roundtable | "The Root Cause of Conflict and Violence: A Jungian Perspective"
DESCRIPTION:WATCH THE RECORDING!\nHJI invites you to the Faculty Roundtable on Wednesday\, April 23 at 7pm ET\, hosted by Dr. Thomas Walsh\, HJI President. Dr. Drissa Kone\, HJI Associate Professor of Conflict Resolution and Ministry\, will be speaking on “The Root Cause of Conflict and Violence: A Jungian Perspective.” \nCarl Jung’s perspective on conflict and violence is deeply rooted in his concept of the Shadow\, which represents the unconscious\, repressed aspects of the human psyche. According to Jung\, individuals and societies often project their own denied and unacknowledged weaknesses\, fears\, and aggressions onto others\, creating an “enemy” outside of themselves. This projection is a fundamental source of conflict\, whether on a personal level or in large-scale wars. His theory\, deeply connected to depth psychology and spirituality\, suggests that true peace comes not from external control but from internal transformation. \nPlease join us for this informative presentation\, followed by a Q&A session with the audience! \nWe look forward to an insightful and engaging event.
